For private investor clients’ portfolio companies, the team tracks policy, maps stakeholders, and offers strategic advice. Anchor produces forward-looking notes that analyze policy developments and outline policy-driven investment themes. Additionally, Anchor hosts in-person and virtual events with policymakers to provide insight on policy trends and strengthen clients' policy networks.
Erin Caddell
President
Erin began his career in journalism, working as a political reporter at Keene Sentinel in Keene, NH before transitioning to a role as a financial reporter and editor at Institutional Investor magazine in New York, NY.

Following this role, he spent four years in finance with Credit Suisse First Boston and Morgan Stanley. In the early 2000s, he navigated the Global Financial Crisis as an analyst at DC-based financial services hedge fund Hovde Capital. After Hovde Capital, Erin served for eight years as director of research at the policy analysis firm Capstone, where he grew his team from one to twenty-five employees. In this role, Erin led Capstone’s expansion into the financial services, energy/climate, technology, and healthcare sectors.
In 2020, Erin founded the Washington, D.C. office for international policy consulting firm Global Counsel, helping to establish firm’s U.S. presence and serving on the firm's global executive committee through a period of strong growth for the firm.
Erin has spent more than 20 years in Washington, D.C. where he currently resides with his wife and with three children. In his spare time, he stays active playing racquet sports, and serves as the VP of the League for National Capital Squash.


John Crumbliss
Advisor
John serves as an Advisor at Anchor offering strategic advice and insights to clients who are seeking clarity on the intersection of federal policy and business. He also serves as a Principal at Cornerstone Government Affairs and thus leads the partnership between Anchor and Cornerstone.

At Cornerstone, John provides policy analysis and due diligence to the financial sector on Congress' legislative work as well as the administration's regulatory process. He has also advises corporate clients on business-specific strategies to address legislative challenges.
In his tenure, he has represented a broad portfolio of clients in the technology, higher education, health care, defense and nonprofit spaces. Leading these clients on a diverse range of issues, he has devised and implemented strategies that have resulted in concrete policy changes and subsequent federal support or funding for the organizations represented.
John received his Masters in International Relations with honors from the Trans-Atlantic Masters program at Duke University, UNC Chapel Hill, the University of Paris-Sorbonne and the University of Bath, UK.  A native North Carolinian, he received his Bachelors in U.S. History and Political Science from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. John currently resides in Washington, D.C. with his wife and son.
